This dimension of improvment covers the organization’s activities to widen the organizational area covered by the EMS. Starting points are the environmental management system’s borderlines valid at the time when it was first introduced. Like this, an initial EMS can be implemented in a decentral unit or at the headquarter of a company, and then it can expand into other of the corporation’s units. This dimension of improvement is accordingly more important for mid-sized and large companies then for small, single-unit companies.
